I wanted to have some new stuff, but work has been relentless. I have been reading to relax. House of Leaves, The House on the Borderland and currently Lovecraft Country.
I’m waiting for that opening to have some time.

Return to Nihilism
I’m almost at the point of getting back to my studio. To re-arrange things, to return to musical nihilism, to have some fun.
I don’t have anything new right now but it should be bulkier, heavier. Relentless insanity packaged as sound.
A Lesbian Scene
I have six subscribers on Youtube. A Lesbian Scene is a pretty dim wall.
HN(W). Snuff Scream. New Gear.
I had this plan of making a WALL a week. It seemed so easy and I’m not a perfectionist, but if I don’t like a sound I can’t put it out there. How to avoid sameness without adding to a track to make it more interesting? How to build on what has already been done rather than copy/paste?
The gameplan for the track below is/was to setup a no-input chain that continuously hacks away topped with the screams from a Giallo flick and a synth I got from Electro Lobotomy.
The result is called Snuff Scream. Flac and MP3 download available.

Moving to the Internet Archive
It’s been a while since I put out new material and if you don’t care for reading, I posted it below. As of today I’m going to upload everything to the Internet Archive. If I keep using WordPress to host my Noise I’ll run out of space. Things cost money and Noise doesn’t make any.
I have been watching some older movies with memorable mentions for Videodrome and Memories (90’s anime anthology). I used to have a little collection of dvd weirdness. Most, if not all, I left behind in The Netherlands. It’s only now, after more than 20 years, that I’m rediscovering my love for cinema. Which reminds me that I still have to finish watching Bully and Megalomaniac.
I have been making abstract art, markers on paper, for years. It’s the same as with Noise, anybody can make it. Last week I actually put some on the wall and I’m quite pleased with it. Who doesn’t like the smell of their own stink?
SEBEK: Psychological Bleeding
No-input noise.
It’s been too busy to even think about putting any effort into posting about new things. I’m sitting here recording some no-input noise. I experimented with it a while back but left it for what it was. I was having too much fun with some contact mics and a baking tray.
Then yesterday I saw some no-input mixing by whoizDAK that made we want to pick it up again. Here it is.

Any harsh noise wall is quite possibly the best harsh noise wall, but it won’t be as good as the Black Metal cover of L’amour Toujours.
Harsh Noise. Episode 4.
I’m currently reading The Dispossessed by Ursula Le Guin and throwing myself back into the music of yesteryear by wading through Terminal Escape on the Inter Archive. That gave me the idea to do the same with my own work. I haven’t uploaded anything yet. I don’t even have an account, so an idea it is. First I have to rearrange my office/studio to better suit my needs. Perhaps I’ll shoot a picture and post it when that’s done.
The pain is nagging.

It could be that I don’t have the patience to make the Harsh Noise Wall that purists dream about. The idea that I would create a wall of sound and then not play with it seems impossible.
Harsh Noise Of The Day. Episode 2.
I ordered a ring modulator for next to nothing. It’s supposed to be a copy of the DOD Gonkulator. Which means absolutely nothing to me. I just don’t like to spend a fortune on making noise. I could just sit here and record doing raspberries on my arm which would be a lot cheaper.

I was plugging away with some pedals and have some new ones coming.

Experiment. A Harsh Noise ode to Lale Gül.
I had it all figured out. I used the Korg NTS-3 with the Metal Fetishist plus some fuzz and distortion. Then I scrapped it all. Took out the Korg and made something I immediately enjoyed.
The Kaosspad was a bad choice. It has potential, but also has a learning curve that I forgot to take into account. It all sounded off. Hence trashing everything and starting over. The good news, I just released it. The good stuff I mean.
Harsh noise for the working class.
“Anger Of The Working Class” is the title of my latest HNW and also a submission for a Noise Wall Compilation that is to be released later this year.
I won’t post it here, because if it doesn’t make it to the compilation I’ll start working on some more material and turn it into a full album. Something that would hit the 45 minute mark.
What I do have today is ten minutes of dronish harsh noise wall and my setup for it, part of it at least. There are pictures of the effects and pedals and a diagram from my notebook to show what connects to what. It’s not complete, but shows how I do things.
A day off.
That’s what I’m having, a whole day to muck around. First to finish the Dorothy Day release. It’s out there on Bandcamp. Second, to make a new HNW slab for an upcoming compilation.
I was also thinking about making a list, with pictures, of the gear I use to make what make. I thought that might be of interest.
Dorothy Day Continued
With some extra time opening up I was able to finish the Dorothy Day release.
It will be under a stricter license, because I’m using a recording from the Cleveland Orchestra that I came across on the Internet Archive. I mangled it and added it to what I already had, then topped off with another layer of caustic noise.
Harsh Noise. The Dark Days Coming Compilation.
I’ve made some longer harsh noise creations in the last six months and submitted one to the Dark Days Coming Compilation. The actual title is Become Resentment. I like mistakes like that.
Dorothy Day – Harsh Noise
I have been working on a new Harsh Noise release titled Dorothy Day, to follow up on Le Guin. The hope was to get it out sooner rather than later and aim for a weekly release. Here is at least some of it.
This is not a finished product.
HNW – Chronic Pain
The title is somewhat autobiographical. There is a tension between being hesitant about expressing myself and the urge to do just that.
